The Naval Codex
7★★★★★8.47[USA] Eric Jorgenson / 2022 / CITIC Press
Want to read Dec 30, 2022Via tw bitwu.eth / Via tw jiayuan Revisited many books in 2022, and 'The Naval Codex' is the one I recommend the most. I had already read the English version in early 2021 and recently re-read it. Many of the maxims initially make sense, but only through true practice can one grasp their deeper meanings. Naval's two key life philosophies: Evolutionary theory + Rational Buddhism; the former pertains to genes, while the latter involves using introspection to combat genetic predispositions. /via tw xiaofeng Never collaborate with those who are resentful, cynical, and pessimistically negative, as their prophecies will fulfill themselves.

Want to read Dec 29, 2022Want to read Dec 29, 2022The Origins of the Boxer Rebellion
0★★★★★★8.70[USA] James Seymour / 2021 / Jiangsu People's Publishing House
Want to read Dec 29, 2022Via tw song ma recently thought of a funny thing about the Boxer Rebellion. This grassroots movement took the eradication of foreign religions and the killing of foreigners as its mission, but it was covered with layers of stigma. However, the most impartial evaluations of the Boxers ironically came from two foreigners: James Seymour and Kevin. History always has a sense of humor.

The Book You Wish Your Parents Had Read (and Your Children Will Be Glad That You Did)
0★★★★★N/A0Philippa Perry / Trojan Publishing
Want to read Dec 27, 2022Via tw rewolf 'No matter how old your child is, he will always act in a way that reminds you of the emotions you experienced at his age.' Children are truly amazing beings. When you are always angry about certain behaviors of your child, it might be that you are angry or helpless about yourself at a certain stage. Before you lay a hand on the child, make an effort to get to know yourself again. 'The Book You Wish Your Parents Had Read'
