Love is too beautiful. It can be overwhelmingly beautiful. Enchanting love is too beautiful. It's wonderful how through the ages people have dedicated their lives to love. A life without love, how could it compare? Yet, it inevitably brings pain. Pain and love, born from each other.

The female lead is so beautiful, I captured a few screenshots. I can deeply relate to how painful and terrifying it is to love someone and watch as you lose them. I believe in the feeling of love, but watching it is enough to satisfy me.

Kate is just too pretty, I can't help but keep taking screenshots. The story isn't very moving, and the plot is quite ideal in a novelistic way, without being heavy. It offers a glimpse into the stark difference between modern cities and rural estates in the previous era when communication was not as developed, which is quite poignant. Still, it stands out as a rather good work, deserving of a bit higher than a 7.2 rating.

Every year we are fortunate to see superbly crafted high-standard nature documentaries. I hope these documentaries continue forever, never running out of material. Living on Earth, humans have become increasingly estranged from nature. Lonely people tread the earth unsupported, while joyful people revel and laugh in the world of capital elites. Looking into the eyes of a young orangutan, I hope nature gives humanity another chance. Youthful, short-sighted human beings, greedy for the moment, will return to nature. A lifestyle full of artistic, cultural, natural care, closely connected with others and other life forms, responsible, loving, healthy, mutually beneficial, shared, natural, eternal.

2019-12-2 / 2023-12-25 Deeply moving. I admire the skill of the crew for handling this subject matter perfectly. The overflowing love and destinies that make us sigh repeatedly on-screen show that what these twin sisters bring to us goes far beyond being abandoned and raised separately. The serene beauty of Norway combined with the hustle of California, they share love and freedom, cherished and cared for, connected across the great expanse of the sea, their outgoing confidence and resilience aren't just gifts of genetics. Fate is everywhere, everywhere poignant.

I've heard the lovely ending song of this movie long ago, and encountered it today in the movie. The movie itself is also very lovely.

2019.11.12 The people on this land just want to live. / 2024.2.1 I don't know how many times I've watched it now. The vivid reds that fill the eyes, the dull blues tell the story of the film's differences. 'Uncle Ge' acts any role like it's tailor-made for him, yet retains his own style, admirable. This already beautified viewpoint still deeply lets one feel the impacts of last century's historical changes on people—surviving isn't easy.

There are some unexpectedly advanced cinematographic techniques for 1937, near-perfect character expressions, and while the story feels a bit dated, I believe it was quite fresh at the time.
